Our Project has come decently far, but there’s still a major bulk of the work ahead of us. So far, I have acquired a spreadsheet of all the CSA-approved clubs from the CSA College Council Liaison. Initially, this doesn’t seem too useful considering we already created a club spreadsheet and it’s the same length as the spreadsheet given to me. However, this is useful because it provides a categorization column for each club, something we didn’t have in our original spreadsheet. Moreover, this categorization column can easily be matched up with the “description” aspect of Dublin Core.
Data cleaning and figuring out how to import our spreadsheet as a CSV to Omeka using the CSV Import + plugin are two of my major tasks. Additionally, I need to start looking into a possibly automatic way of implementing the locations of each club, which will have to be gathered manually. Other tasks some group members are doing include searching through physical records of historic clubs at Carleton and continuing to email clubs’ leaderships to get additional information (e.g. founding date).
